Visitors are Prospects

People visiting your site are, in general, business prospects. Why would they be there otherwise? If you are selling something, they're prospective clients. If you are running a professional organization's Web site, they're potential members or people who might hire your members. If you're selling advertising by keeping people at your site, they're potential repeat visitors.

If you've managed to get users to your Web site, there's a very good chance that they're interested in your product. So why not offer them something more, something to entice them to give you their e-mail addresses? Here's a few ideas:

2.Simple order forms for software or shareware.

3.Free subscription to a newsletter (of course, then you have to write it.)

4.A message board or chat area.

5.A guestbook, so easy and so important.
